Desiccator

Glass vessel with a hermetically closing lid for drying or keeping dry any kinds of samples.

For example, prepared microtome samples (microtome cuts) are kept in desiccators to protect them from humidity. The most frequently used desiccating agent is hydrophilic silica gel or granular calcium chloride.
