Hanger-type blast machine

Here, the abrasive is picked up by a hanger which can turn around the hanger axle in the blasting cabinet.

The use of an hanger-type blast machine is recommended for sensitive or large workpieces which are not suitable for barrel machines. To process them, they are hung in workpiece carriers and driven into the machine. The simultaneous rotating and oscillating movement of the hanger means that the blasting beam can reach each corner of the workpiece in the best possible way. In addition to its extreme flexibility, this machine is also characterized by its compact, space-saving shape. The overhead rail transportation (see also Overhead rail) can be done using hand-trolleys or with circular conveyor systems or self-driving hangers. In addition to the design as

The working principle infeed procedure, Type CAPSOR® (Rump Strahlanlagen GmbH & Co. KG)  is illustrated schematically in Fig. 1. Attachment occurs on an overhead monorail system with carriage or lifting gear. The cluster of workpieces rotates and oscillates in the blast area during the blasting process (Fig. 2, Rump Strahlanlagen GmbH & Co. KG.

In opposite of the infeed procedure attachment occurs run-through process on crossbars of a manual overhead rail system, a Power & Free conveyor system or a circle monorail conveyor system, for heavy loads also with electric hoists Fig. 3 and 4, (Rump Strahlanlagen GmbH & Co. KG).

The overhead conveyor blasting system shown schematically in Fig. 5 (AGTOSGmbH) works as follows:

Work pieces are placed in work piece holders or are suspended directly from the running gear’s rotating hook. The work pieces are then pushed into position in front of the blasting machine. An automatic feed mechanism then advances the work pieces to the first blasting position.

After the blasting program begins, the machine door is automatically closed and electro-pneumatically locked. As the work pieces rotate, they are blasted at three different blasting stations according to the pre-set blasting times.

The blasting abrasive is continuously cleaned, recirculated and reused. An abrasive metering device feeds the cleaned abrasive from the abrasive storage bunker to the high-performance turbines.

Upon completion of the blasting cycle and after the turbines have come to a complete stop, the machine door opens automatically, and the suspended work pieces return to their initial position.

A fan unit creates the partial vacuum necessary to maintain dust-free operation of the blasting unit. Extracted air is cleaned in a special filter unit.

The video (AGTOSGmbH) shows an example of Hanger-type blast machine
