Steel vessel lined with a refractory lining (Fig. 1) for receiving the liquid melt from the furnace (tapping ladle), for transporting the liquid material to the pouring stations (transport ladle) and for pouring (pouring ladle). In addition, special constructions such as ladles with porous stoppers for stirring the melt or treatment ladle (tea-pot treatment ladle, lid ladle, plug ladle) are used for metallurgical work.
