Machining center

A machining center is a CNC controlled machine tool which allows the complete machining of workpieces without repeated clamping. Thus, this machining center records the functions of lathe, milling machine and drilling machine simultaneously. This has the advantage that accuracy is improved and at the same time unnecessary and cost-intensive set-up are eliminated. For automated operation, a machining center can be equipped with peripheral devices as for example a pallet changer.

The machining of components for the automotive industry, especially machining of structural components, makes high demands on machining center in terms of repeat accuracy and efficiency.

Complex geometries can also be machined multispindle today. The five-axis simultaneous machining on multispindle BAZ is also possible and tested today. The figure shows a machining center with two spindles, two autonomous chambers (August Wenzler Maschinenbau GmbH)
