Magnet separator

Separates ferromagnetic material in granular materials during transport on a conveyor belt, e.g. iron residues from the recirculating mold material after demolding. 

During sand conditioning, the used sand is passed over a magnet drum where the ferromagnetic material is contained and ejected after the cycle.

Magnet rollers and magnet drums differ in the operating area of their magnetic field with the magnet roller having a magnetic field that acts on the entire roller circumference (Fig. 1). In contrast to that, the magnet system of the magnet drum comprises a fixed pole arc of 180° (Fig. 2).
