Mold material compaction

Minimization of the average grain distance and simultaneous increase of the weight by volume.

In bentonite-bound mold materials, mold material compaction is a prerequisite for appropriate molds. In addition to processes such as ramming, squeezing, jolting, and vibrating, it is mainly modern methods, such as blowing, shooting, and air impulse compaction that are used for this purpose.
