Multiple zone temperature control of die casting dies

The high-performance unit, type 2511 (Fig. 1, Robamat Automatisierungstechnik GmbH)  was developed for multiple zone temperature control of up to 80 independent circuits.

This sophisticated temperature control system significantly reduces the cycle time and together with a contour close channel system in combination with optimized spraying it improves the product quality a lot.

  • The quick and reliable leakage control < 100 ml allows a safe production.
  • Temperature control channels with small distance to the cavity surface are monitored in a safe way
  • Micro spraying is possible and reduces the cycle time
  • No porosity caused by water based spraying agents

The foundries can benefit from the economic and ecological advantages of the thermal transfer medium water if they use a distributer. In this case the energy efficiency is increased because less hoses are used in between the temperature control unit and the 10-fold distributor (Fig. 2, Robamat Automatisierungstechnik GmbH).

All multiple zone temperature control units as well as all double circuit units can be    controlled by one visualization unit. All process relevant parameters like feed- and return line temperature, volume flow and pressure are shown on the touch display. Memory function for all process parameters of each die and visual display and individual channel descriptions of the die and circuit connections are available (Fig. 3, Robamat Automatisierungstechnik GmbH).
