Casting materials poured into pig molds  (sand molds or ingots) for reuse by melting.

Differentiation of pigs is made by the respectively used material, on the one hand,  by various pig shapes, on the other hand, e.g. trapezoid cross sections, notched (e.g. two-piece, three-piece) or un-notched (e.g. secondary ingot), or by weight between 5 and 20 kg, partly up to approx. 30 kg.

Moreover, flat, plate-type formats and pigs obtained through continuous casting are also commercially available.
