The WFO is the recognized center of strategic foundry knowledge at the global level, designed to develop, enhance and improve the production of metal castings through the latest technical and sustainable industry practices. The technical forum is held once every two years, most recently in Portoroz, Slovenia. The American Foundry Society, with approximately 1,000 corporate members and nearly 6,000 individual members, is a premier technical society, trade association, and education provider for the foundry industry. CastExpo is North America’s largest metalcasting knowledge-transfer event and industrial trade show, presented by AFS once every three years.

“Metalcasting industry leaders from more than 30 nations are expected to visit Atlanta for CastExpo 2025,” said Doug Kurkul, CEO of AFS. “We are honored that the WFO has chosen to locate the WFO Technical Forum in the United States in 2025, and we look forward to welcoming our metalcasting industry and supplier guests from around the world. We will also welcome students and key professors at no cost, to promote the future of our industry.”
