In order to maintain a continuously constant quality in the tempering of die casting molds, it is necessary to clean the tempering channels at periodic intervals. The mold cleaning units (Fig. 1, Robamat Automatisierungstechnik GmbH) can remove pollution such as cracked oil, lime, metal chips from the mold channel. At the same time the flow can be monitored and the channel can be checked for leaks.

The mold temperature control channels are cleaned and decalcified with hot water and additives. This is followed by a leak test and a flow control of the temperature control channels by means of a contactless flow meter. Then the cleaning agent is blown out (Robamat Automatisierungstechnik GmbH).
