Copper casting material with 45 to 67% copper, 10 to 26% nickel, rest zinc, residual tin and lead contents can also be contained.

The German silver materials were used in the chemical and food industry, mainly due to their good corrosion resistance and tarnish-proofness.

The significance of the material is declining as in many cases it has been replaced by non-corroding steels.
